求一篇英语电影影评【战狼2英文影评】

献上《阿甘正传》的英文影评一篇:
Robert Zemeckis (of Back to the Future fame) has collected another feather for his cap with his direction of this movie starring Tom Hanks as this childishly naive idiot savant.Though that description of Forrest Gump might be inadequate.
Gump, gifted with a low IQ which lets him be adorably childlike even as he grows up,leads a very charmed life:a mother who loves him immensely and who sleeps with the school principal in order to make sure her child has the best education,a miraculous incident that eliminates the need for him to have braces for his legs,a childhood girlfriend who remains faithful to him till the end, surviving Vietnam with a medal, and,in general,a propensity for turning everything that happens to him into good.
I wonder what the movie is trying to say. From one perspective,it implies that intelligence (as measured by IQs and the general idea of what "smart" is) is a very unnecessary trait. But I think one can look beyond that and say that childlike innocence, which can be considered stupid, has its rewards.Throughout the movie,Gump is in situations where he is harassed by other people but he never takes offense (except,of course, when his girl Jenny is being abused) at any of the insults thrown at him.He is indeed not completely stupid, even though he is portrayed as such, since he can re-assemble guns at high speed, run like crazy, play ping-pong like a maniac, and so on.
The fact that Gump doesn"t take offense,I think,is what keeps him content. He becomes a millionaire, but gives most of the money away.He is honest and open and this, along with his Alabama accent, endears him to the audience. But this gets tiresome after a while (especially after 2 hours).I thought the movie was overly long, but that"s the only negative thing I have to say.
Gump rubs elbows with many famous personalities over the last half of the century including Elvis Presley and Nixon, thanks to computer technology (General Dan doesn"t really lose his legs either---they are just erased and the background is then touched up by using computer graphics programs). The account of how Gump is responsible for the gyrations that is so characteristic of Presley is very telling of the motives of this movie.Gump is contrasted to the famous males, who are idols (in some cases) in today"s society, and it appears as though he is better off in comparison:Gump"s choices in life seem to determine his niceness (he goes to Vietnam, keeps his promises ("a promise is a promise"),harbours no ill-feelings or grudges, and is not greedy with fame or money) and successes.Contrast this to the choices his lifetime girl friend Jenny makes:she wants to be famous and rich, but ends up being a druggie. The people she is surrounded by are all of a dubious nature:a sexually-abusive father,a show audience more interested in her naked body than her folk-music playing, and an abusive hippie-boyfriend.
The traditional male heroes that we have had are all dysfunctional in some respect or another and we are lost without heroes,as Bloom points out.Gump is a new kind of a role-model; he"s A Nice Boy and everyone knows they"re hard to find.As one reviewer said:"Today the last American hero is a Tom Hanks character with a small IQ".
Forrest Gump is the runaway hit movie of this summer. Many people claim it gets them in touch with their "inner child".Some reviewers attack it for the view that low IQ is a necessity for maintaining the child-like attitude Gump has.Gump never grows up or matures in the movie. He never becomes a man and remains a boy throughout. It is implied,at least, that his "stupidity" is what allows him to do this. This may or may not be true, but it is just a movie in the end. Most people in his position would not be so fortunate as he.And what about the converse:if you are intelligent, does this mean you cannot be child-like forever? That"s not true, and I think Zemeckis did a good job in showing that anyone can retain their inner child as long they never grow up or become mature.
There"s room for much analysis here, but the plot isn"t new.Peter Sellers did this a long time ago.
"I"m tired now.I think I"m going home." --Forrest Gump"Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you"re going to get." --Forrest Gump
"Stupid is as stupid does." --Forrest Gump"I guess sometimes there just aren"t enough rocks." --Forrest Gump

Iron Man
Tuesday,April 29 2008,10:25 BST
By Simon Reynolds,Entertainment Reporter
Director:Jon Favreau
Screenwriters:Mark Fergus,Hawk Ostby,Art Marcum,Matt Holloway
Starring:Robert Downey Jr,Gwyneth Paltrow,Terrence Howard,Jeff Bridges
Running Time:125 mins
Certificate:12A
It may have taken him the best part of 25 years, but Robert Downey Jr.has finally arrived as a bona fide movie star. When Tom Hanks first made a Splash and Tom Cruise was indulging in Risky Business with Rebecca De Mornay,Downey Jr.was starting out in Weird Science.
After a turbulent personal life he now looms large, plastered across the sides of buses and magazine covers in support of Iron Man,the first of this summer"s blockbuster extravaganzas. He"s an unconventional leading man in a conventional superhero movie. His Tony Stark,a billionaire industrialist and weapons contractor turned superhero,is flamboyant,an eccentric genius - James Bond with a pinch of Howard Hughes. It"s perhaps a little strong to say that he carries Iron Man,but it"s hard to envision it being as enjoyable without him.
We first meet Stark in Afghanistan (updated from the comic"s Vietnam setting). His military convoy is struck by terrorists and he finds himself captured and nursing a gruesome chest wound.Flashing back 36 hours we catch him indulging in his wealth and fame.He shamelessly ploughs head first into the playboy lifestyle, gambling at the Vegas high-rollers table and seducing a knockout blonde.Various supporting cast members are introduced in the process - his faithful but oddly-monikered assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow),military advisor Colonel James Rhodes (Terrence Howard) and Stark Industries executive Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges).
Stark jets to Afghanistan to give prospective buyers a demonstration of the new Jericho weapon. After a successful sales pitch ("I prefer the weapon you only need to fire once") the story loops back to Stark"s capture by the shady Ten Rings terrorist group. With an electromagnet installed in his chest to keep shrapnel away from his heart,he constructs a clunky, walking battle-tank exoskeleton to break out of captivity.
As far as superhero origin films go,Iron Man is at the higher end of the scale.Better than the first X-Men but not quite as soaring as Spider-Man,its mandate is fairly simple:be loud,be entertaining and don"t get too serious. It succeeds on all fronts but,as is often the problem with inaugural superhero outings, there"s a lot of exposition to wade through.
Starting and ending with a bang,Iron Man"s heels are clipped in the middle by spending too long in getting the eponymous superhero into action.Stark constructs three different armour prototypes (a gift for toy manufacturers) before he gets to the final design.Downey Jr"s charisma during the sagging mid-point is crucial in keeping the movie afloat.Take the numerous scenes with him talking to robotic arms as they construct the battle armour. He manages to keep things engaging and funny without threatening to turn proceedings into a high-tech Punch and Judy show.
Downey Jr.and Paltrow possess a crackle together on screen, their snappy back and forth dialogue reminiscent of classic screen pairs like Grant and Hepburn.Paltrow"s character is subservient and underused, but her introduction, where she dismisses one of Stark"s floosies, paints her as more than a shrinking violet.
Iron Man briefly ponders exploring deeper territory, presenting an interesting shift in Stark"s moral compass. He has generated billions as a warmonger but his brush with death in Afghanistan prompts an awakening, reinvigorating him with humanitarian drive and focus. He begins the movie as an empty shell but is given soul by hiding behind another.Director Favreau wisely chooses not to dwell on the Lord of War vibe and pulls theme park action into the foreground.
As a first franchise entry (the film’s closing scene, with Stark"s out-of-the-blue revelation, leaves intriguing potential for a sequel) and a blockbuster to kick off the summer season,Iron Man proves to be an excellent introduction.
剧情:Tony Stark is the complete playboy who also happens to be an engineering genius. While in Afghanistan demonstrating a new missile he"s captured and wounded. His captors want him to assemble a missile for them but instead he creates an armored suit and a means to prevent his death from the shrapnel left in his chest by the attack. He uses the armored suit to escape.Back in the U.S.he announces his company will cease making weapons and he begins work on an updated armored suit only to find that Obadiah Stane, his second in command at Stark industries has been selling Stark weapons to the insurgents. He uses his new suit to return to Afghanistan to destroy the arms and then to stop Shane from misusing his research.

Disregarding time be still space how turn around ,love are human being eternal subject in the first place.Went to have looked at the vast USA "deformation Buddha"s warrior attendant being shown newly yesterday 2 ",brief one words,is beating appearance very wonderful!American, has been to like to seek the future world ,has been at war therefore even war being with the extraterrestrial being. In extraterrestrial being big and powerful in self"s eyes, human being be so insignificant and fragile. One finger of extraterrestrial being, not bad casually destroy Terran. The war result all is that Terran has defeated an extraterrestrial being but, every time ,especially accurate doctrine is that justice has defeated Belial ,love has Rubicon is merciless. The fine thing, can arouse the gigantic energy always on a moment ,have owned matchless courage.Love you because of me!

Tess(苔丝)1979

ThomasHardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles, which Roman Polanski has turned into alovely, lyrical, unexpectedly delicate movie, might at first seem to be thewrong project for Mr. Polanski in every way. As a new biography of the directorreports, when Tess was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, the press pointednastily and repeatedly to the coincidence of Mr. Polanski's having made a filmabout a young girl's seduction by an older man, while he himself faced criminalcharges for a similar offense. This would certainly seem to cast a pall overthe project. So would the fact that Hardy's novel is so very deeply rooted inEnglish landscapes, geographical and sociological, while Mr. Polanski wasbrought up in Poland.

Finally,Tess of the D'Urbervilles is so quintessentially Victorian a story that abelievable version might seem well out of any contemporary director's reach. But if an elegant, plausible, affecting Tess sounds like more than might havebeen expected of Mr. Polanski, let's just say he has achieved the impossible. In fact, in the process of adapting his style to suit such a sweeping and vividnovel, he has achieved something very unlike his other work. Without Mr.Polanski's name in the credits, this lush and scenic Tess could even bemistaken for the work of David Lean.

Ina preface to the later editions of Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Mr. Hardydescribed the work as "an impression, not an argument." Mr. Polanskihas taken a similar approach, removing the sting from both the story's moralityand its melodrama. Tess Durbeyfield, the hearty country lass whose downfallbegins when her father learns he had noble forebears, is sent to charm her richD'Urberville relations. She learns that they aren't D'Urbervilles after all;instead, they have used their new money to purchase an old name.

Tesscharms them anyhow, so much that Alec D'Urberville, her imposter cousin, seduces and impregnates her. The seduction, like many of the film's key scenes,is presented in a manner both earthy and discreet. In this case, the action isset in a forest, where a gentle mist arises from the ground and envelops Tessjust around the time when she is enveloped by Alec.

Alec,as played by Leigh Lawson, is a slightly wooden character, unlike Angel Clare,Tess's later and truer lover, played with supreme radiance by Peter Firth. Longafter  Tess has borne and buried her illegitimate child, she finds andfalls in love with this spirited soul mate. But when she marries Angel Clareand is at last ready to reveal the secret of her past, the story beginshurtling toward its final tragedy. When Tess becomes a murderer, the filmoffers its one distinctly Polanski-like moment—but even that scene has itsfidelity to the novel. A housemaid listening at a door hears a "drip, drip, drip" sound, according to Hardy. Mr. Polanski has simply interpretedthis with a typically mischievous flourish.

Ofall the unlikely strong points of Tess, which opens today for a weeklongengagement at the Baronet and which will reopen next year, the unlikeliest isNastassja Kinski, who plays the title role. Miss Kinski powerfully resemblesthe young Ingrid Bergman, and she is altogether ravishing. But she's an oddchoice for Tess: not quite vigorous enough, and maybe even too beautiful. She'san actress who can lose her magnetism and mystery if she's given a great deal todo (that was the case in an earlier film called Stay As You Are). But here, Mr.Polanski makes perfect use of her. Instead of a driving force, she becomes anecho of the land and the society around her, more passive than Hardy's Tess butlinked just as unmistakably with natural forces. Miss Kinski's Tess has noinner life to speak of. But Mr. Polanski makes her surroundings so expressivethat her placidity and reserve work very beautifully.

Evenat its nearly three-hour running time, Mr. Polanski's Tess cannot hope foranything approaching the range of the novel. But the deletions have been madewisely, and though the story loses some of its resonance it maintains itsmomentum. There are episodes—like one involving Tess's shabby boots and MercyChant, the more respectable girl who expects to marry Angel—that don't make thesense they should, and the action is fragmented at times. That's a small priceto pay for the movie's essential rightness, for its congruence with the moodand manner of the novel. Mr. Polanski had to go to Normandy and rebuildStonehenge to stage his last scene, according to this same biography. As is thecase throughout his Tess, the results were worth the trouble.
