二、国庆节的来历
“国庆”一词,本指国家喜庆之事,最早见于西晋.西晋的文学家陆机在《五等诸侯论》一文中就曾有“国庆独飨其利,主忧莫与其害”的记载、我国封建时代、国家喜庆的大事,莫大过于帝王的登基、诞辰（清朝称皇帝的生日为万岁节）等.因而我国古代把皇帝即位、诞辰称为“国庆”.今天称国家建立的纪念日为国庆.
1949年10月1日,是新中国成立的纪念日.这里应该说明一点,在许多人的印象中,1949年的10月l日在北京天安门广场举行了有数十万军民参加的中华人民共和国开国大典.其实,人们头脑中的这一印象并不准确.因为,1949年10月1日在天安门广场举行的典礼是中华人民共和国中央人民政府成立盛典,而不是开国大典.实际上,中华人民共和国的“开国”,也就是说中华人民共和国的成立,早在当年10月1日之前一个星期就已经宣布过了.当时也不叫“开国大典”,而是称作“开国盛典”.时间是1949年9月21日.这一天,中国人民政治协商会议筹备会主任毛泽东在政协第一届会议上所致的开幕词中就已经宣告了新中国的诞生.
那么10月1日的国庆又是怎么回事呢?在中国人民政治协商会议第一届全国委员会第一次会议上,许广平发言说：“马叙伦委员请假不能来,他托我来说,中华人民共和国的成立,应有国庆日,所以希望本会决定把10月1日定为国庆日.”毛泽东说“我们应作一提议,向政府建议,由政府决定.”1949年10月2日,中央人民政府通过《关于中华人民共和国国庆日的决议》,规定每年10月1日为国庆日,并以这一天作为宣告中华人民共和国成立的日子.从此,每年的10月1日就成为全国各族人民隆重欢庆的节日了.
三、我国的发展
自建国以来,我国在各个领域都取得了较大的进步.
在农业中,我国着名杂交水稻之父袁隆平培育出了种植快,产量高等具有许多优点的水稻,使我国的粮食产量有了明显提高,如今我国不仅能自给自足,而且还向国外输出了大量粮食.也证明了我国之所以被称为“农业大国”,并非徒有虚名.
在军事中,1960年11月5日,我国第一枚导弹腾空而起;1946年10月16日,壮观的蘑茹云在罗布向上空升起,中国从此有了自己的原子弹;建国50年大庆,我们又向世界展示了我国海陆空三军现代化的武器装备.这些都证明了我国军事科技和武器装备有了很大的发展.
改革开放的30年是中国航天事业不断创新的30年!2008年,神舟七号载人航天卫星,是我国首颗探月卫星“嫦娥一号”发射升空,宇行员出舱,而且顺利返回；炎黄子孙的千年奔月梦成为了现实!中国航天人在摸索中让祖国一跃成为航天科技强国!
北京奥运会和残奥会的成功举办,实现了中华民族的百年梦想.中国运动员以出色的竞技能力和顽强的拼搏精神夺得金牌总数第一,创造了历史最好成绩.开、闭幕式表演、赛事组织工作、志愿者服务、场馆设施和中国人民的精神风貌,给世界留下深刻美好的印象,赢得了国际社会的高度评价,更收获了一笔丰厚的物质精神财富.北京奥运会,使世界进一步了解中国,中国进一步走向世界.北京奥运会和残奥会的成功举办,标志着中华民族以崭新的姿态屹立世界的东方,中国人民正满怀豪情走向更加光明灿烂的未来.
改革开放的30年,是中国社会和谐稳定的30年!中华民族犹如钢铁长城一般坚不可摧!97年香港回归,99年澳门回归；1998年面对南方历史罕见的特大洪水,2003年面对让人闻风丧胆的非典疫情,2008年面对十几个省份百年不遇的冰雪灾害,以及四川大地震,中华儿女众志成城,手挽手将一个个磨难踩在脚下.
四、建国六十周年的文章
光辉的足迹
60年,光辉岁月弹指挥间,60年,中华大地沧桑巨变.2009年,我们伟大的祖国迎来了她的60岁生日.
1949年,中华人民共和国成立了!饱经战争沧桑与落后苦难的中国人民终于重新站起来了!中国像一只巨龙一样,以一个大国的身份重新屹立于世界东方!
那时的中国,民生凋敝,经济严重落后,国家事业百废待兴,政府和人民面对一个满目疮痍的中国面孔,并没有畏缩,勇往直前,仅仅用了三年的时间就恢复了国民经济,涌现出一批可歌可泣的感人事迹.
经过三年的经济恢复,国民经济得到根本好转,工业生产已经超过历史最高水平,但是我国那时还是一个落后的农业国,许多工业产品的人均拥有量远远低于发达国家.
为了有计划地进行社会主义建设,我国政府开始编制发展国民经济的五年计划.第一个五年计划从1953年开始执行,它成为我国工业化的起点.
第一个五年计划开始时,我国的工业化水平是极低的.出行用的自行车,人们叫它“洋马”,点火用的火柴,人们叫它“洋火”,钉东西用的钉子,人们叫它“洋钉”.因为那时的中国人没有见过这些新奇的东西,也不会造,都是从西洋传过来的.那个艰苦的年代,我没有经历过,但从我看过的资料片中完全能够体会,当时的中国人民依旧生活在极端贫穷之中.
光阴如水,岁月如梭.时光来到了2009年,我正在电视机前,收看着中国第三个南极科考站落成的新闻.又是一个重大成就,我开始浮想联翩,我想起了祖国成功举办了第二十九届夏季奥运会,想起鸟巢,想起了奥运健儿们的英姿,我想起了祖国接连成功发射了神州五号、六号、七号载人航天飞船,想起太空,想起了中国已经成为世界航天领域举足轻重的一员,我想起了改革开放整整三十年里我国人均国内生产总值保持年均10%的增幅,想起中国国力,想起中国已经成为这个世界综合国力第六的国家,想起新中国成立的这一甲子中国的国际地位迅速的、不断地提升,想起新中国历史,想起了新中国成立六十年来光辉的足迹

The celebration of the new year is the oldest of all holidays. It was first observed in ancient Babylon about 4000 years ago. In the years around 2000 BC, the Babylonian New Year began with the first New Moon (actually the first visible cresent) after the Vernal Equinox (first day of spring).
The beginning of spring is a logical time to start a new year. After all, it is the season of rebirth, of planting new crops, and of blossoming. January 1, on the other hand, has no astronomical nor agricultural significance. It is purely arbitrary.
The Babylonian new year celebration lasted for eleven days. Each day had its own particular mode of celebration, but it is safe to say that modern New Year"s Eve festivities pale in comparison.
The Romans continued to observe the new year in late March, but their calendar was continually tampered with by various emperors so that the calendar soon became out of synchronization with the sun.
In order to set the calendar right, the Roman senate, in 153 BC, declared January 1 to be the beginning of the new year. But tampering continued until Julius Caesar, in 46 BC, established what has come to be known as the Julian Calendar. It again established January 1 as the new year. But in order to synchronize the calendar with the sun, Caesar had to let the previous year drag on for 445 days.
THE CHURCH"S VIEW OF NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS
Although in the first centuries AD the Romans continued celebrating the new year, the early Catholic Church condemned the festivities as paganism. But as Christianity became more widespread, the early church began having its own religious observances concurrently with many of the pagan celebrations, and New Year"s Day was no different. New Years is still observed as the Feast of Christ"s Circumcision by some denominations.
